This picture book was phenomenal! The story is mostly told through beautifully detailed illustrations instead of words, which makes it great for young children.


The story shows the friendship of a girl and a bear that she drew out of stardust outside her window after her mum put her to bed. This means that a lot of the drawings are sparkly, which adds a lot of lovely detail. The bear and the girl have lots of fun in the night, but when she wakes up in the morning, the bear is gone.


The book has themes of friends leaving/moving away and depicts the sadness and feelings of loss felt by the child when this happens to her.
