Penguin Problems by Jory John & Lane Smith

Here is a chilly but warming tale of learning to look at the bright side, even when you live in the arctic, cleverly written by Jory John and beautifully illustrated by Lane Smith. It might be the perfect book to help face those winter blues, for adults as well as children.

Penguin is a sensitive creature, troubled by one thing after another: leopard seals, orcas, copious amounts of snow, not being able to fly... It does seem a very harsh environment. But who's this guy lumbering towards him? Walrus notices Penguin's woeful expression and delivers a surprise full page speech on taking time to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.

Penguin finds this Walrus fellow a bit preachy, but maybe he has a point... Couldn't we all take a bit more time to bask in the beauty of even a cold and icy day?

Brrrr. I'm cold. It gets dark way too early.
