The Story Orchestra: Jessica Courtney-Tickle Illustrator Visit

We can't wait to welcome Jessica Courtney-Tickle, illustrator of The Story Orchestra series, to the shop to celebrate the latest in the series: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland! Jessica will be visiting us for a storytime with crafts and music on Saturday 10th October which is Bookshop Day.

About the event: Tumble into a world of music and magic with the illustrator of the bestselling The Story Orchestra series! Jessica Courtney-Tickle will read from the latest book in the series: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, before teaching kids how to draw the mischievous rabbit in a waistcoat, the Queen of Hearts and Alice herself from Lewis Carroll's classic. Pick up a musical instrument and see if you can recreate the music from the story!

About the illustrator: Jessica Courtney-Tickle is an illustrator who graduated from Kingston University in July 2014. Her absolute favourite thing to draw or paint is nature, finding a focus on foliage of any kind as well as children’s stories about adventure and exploration. She also has a penchant for drawing theatre from music makers to dancers and even singing animals. Jessica is most influenced by vintage picture books, travel posters and folk art as well as numerous painters and printmakers.

About Indie Bookshop Day: Bookshop Day is an annual, one day celebration of all high street bookshops in Booksellers Association membership. Approximately 1000 UK retailers, both independents and branches of chain bookshops, are registered to participate. Bookshop Day aims to remind customers of the value of their local bookshops and that they are the perfect places to kick-start their Christmas gift-buying - to "choose bookshops".

Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All tickets cover 1 child with accompanying adult(s).

This event is ideal for ages 5-8.
