Teen Creative Writing: Taster Session with Mariah Mannae

We are very excited to announce our first teen creative writing session with Mariah Mannae, here at The Alligator's Mouth!

This June, we’re inviting young writers into a space where their ideas are nurtured, their voices are valued, and their creativity can unfold naturally. In this introductory teen creative writing session, we’ll explore genre, voice, and imagination through thoughtful literary discussion and engaging writing exercises. Led in a fun and inclusive setting, this session offers a glimpse into how creative writing can become both a craft and a community, where experimentation is welcomed and each writer feels guided and supported as they develop their own voice!

Mariah has been running sold out creative writing courses and holiday sessions for young writers here at the shop over the past year. These weekly writing sessions have been hugely popular and we are so excited to be introducing a new session for teens. This will be a taster session and you will later have the opportunity to register interest for regular creative writing sessions with Mariah if you wish.

This session is ideal for ages 13-16 and it will offer a great opportunity for young writers to develop creativity, writing skills, and make friends with fellow writers in the group.

About Mariah:

Mariah's sessions are designed to promote creativity, confidence, literary technique and imaginative thinking. The session will consist of imaginative based games and writing activities that spark originality, voice and world building. Mariah creates a place for young writers to explore new ideas in a collaborative space, working towards crafting their own unique narrative.

Mariah is an accomplished writer, educator and youth mentor, with over 10 years of experience in arts and education. She was one of only 16 selected for the prestigious Curtis Brown Creative Novel Program. She received the Dennis Diderot Grant for her screenplay and completed a residency in the renowned Château d'Orquevaux Artists & Writers Residency in France. Mariah is passionate about empowering the next generation of creatives and helping young artists find their voices.
