Storm Quest Adventure Gamebook Workshop

Over two fantastically fun afternoon sessions on Wednesday 12th August and Thursday 13th August, we'll read and play Storm Quest by Andy Prentice and Tom Knight, from the Usborne Adventure Gamebook series. This event is for ages 9+ and all tickets include a copy of Storm Quest to take home. To avoid spoilers, we will keep your copy of the book in the shop for the duration of the 2-day workshop, ready for you to take home at the end of the final workshop.

The workshops will take place on the following dates:

Session 1: Wednesday 12th August (3:00-4:00pm)

Session 2: Thursday 13th August (3:00-4:00pm)

Playing as a group, children will steer the adventure, roll for combat and solve picture puzzles. They'll encounter terrifying sea monsters and waves the size of mountains in this desperate race against time! We'll also talk about the unusual way gamebooks are written and look at others including Fighting Fantasy, Choose Your Own Adventure, Lone Wolf and more.

Mark hosts a regular Comics Club at The Alligator's Mouth and also runs Quickdraw Comics Club, an arts education business which encourages young people to be creative, build confidence and have fun designing their own comics. Mark's Comics Clubs are hugely popular in the shop and local schools.

The price of the 2-day course is £25 per child. This ticket will cover the sessions on both of the above dates. Each ticket includes a copy of Storm Quest and a pouch with dice and a pencil, for collection at the end of the 2-day workshop.
