February Half Term: Creative Writing Workshop with Mariah Mannae

We are very excited to announce a holiday workshop with Mariah Mannae here at The Alligator's Mouth! Mariah runs weekly creative writing sessions for young writers with us, and we are delighted to be running a standalone session for anyone who would like to join us this half term.

If you already participate in Mariah's classes, you are very welcome to join this holiday session. If you have not yet tried Mariah's classes, this will be the perfect opportunity to try it out! Mariah's classes have been hugely popular in the shop over the past year and we are thrilled to have an exciting lineup of events coming up throughout term time and the holidays.

This session is ideal for ages 7-12 and it will offer a great opportunity for young writers to develop creativity, writing skills, and make friends with fellow writers in the group.

In this standalone session, you will work towards building your own short story, focusing on plot and imagination. You will leave the session with your own piece of writing, with the opportunity to share your work with the groups.

About Mariah:

Mariah's classes are designed to promote creativity, confidence, literary technique and imaginative thinking. The session will consist of imaginative based games and writing activities that spark originality, voice and world building. Mariah creates a place for young writers to explore new ideas in a collaborative space, working towards crafting their own unique narrative.

Mariah is an accomplished writer, educator and youth mentor, with over 10 years of experience in arts and education. She was one of only 16 selected for the prestigious Curtis Brown Creative Novel Program. She received the Dennis Diderot Grant for her screenplay and completed a residency in the renowned Château d'Orquevaux Artists & Writers Residency in France. Mariah is passionate about empowering the next generation of creatives and helping young artists find their voices.
