Adult Creative Writing Course with Mariah Mannae

We can't wait to welcome Mariah Mannae back to The Alligator's Mouth for another fantastic creative writing course! Following a successful taster class, we will be hosting a creative writing course for adults. This will be a 7-week course taking place EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY (6:30-7:30pm). Your ticket will cover the entire course, all materials provided, and will entitle you to 10% discount on books purchased during the sessions.

The course will take place on the following dates:

Session 1: Wednesday 9th September 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 2: Wednesday 23rd September 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 3: Wednesday 7th October 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 4: Wednesday 21st October 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 5: Wednesday 4th November 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 6: Wednesday 18th November 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Session 7: Wednesday 2nd December 2026 (6:30-7:30pm)

Course information:

This course is designed for adults and offers a great opportunity to develop your creativity and writing skills while meeting new people in a friendly, supportive group. Guided by Mariah, you'll explore a variety of creative writing exercises, prompts, and short pieces, with opportunities to share your ideas, receive feedback, and develop your writing throughout the course.

About Mariah Mannae:

Mariah is an accomplished writer, educator and youth mentor, with over 10 years of experience in arts and education. She was one of only 16 selected for the prestigious Curtis Brown Creative Novel Program. She received the Dennis Diderot Grant for her screenplay and completed a residency in the renowned Château d'Orquevaux Artists & Writers Residency in France. Mariah is passionate about empowering the next generation of creatives and helping young artists find their voices.

• Ticket-holders will receive 10% discount on all books purchased from The Alligator's Mouth, only to be used in the shop on the evening of the creative writing sessions.

• This discount cannot be used outside of the creative writing sessions and cannot be extended to non-ticket-holders.

• This discount is only applicable to books and cannot be applied when purchasing Alligator's Mouth Vouchers, National Book Tokens, gift wrap, cards, games and toys.

• This discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount (including loyalty card discounts).

• National Book Tokens cannot be used to pay for discounted items. We accept both cash and card payments in the shop.

• Please note that we keep a small selection of adult titles in stock and we can order titles upon request, subject to availability with our supplier.

The price of the full 7-week course is £126 per attendee. This ticket will cover the classes on all of the above dates, taking place on alternate Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm.
