Congratulations on participating in The Battle of the Books 2026 competition! We are thrilled that this year's event will feature an exciting reading and presentation by bestselling author

Gareth P Jones!

Gareth first became an author in 2007 with The Dragon Detective Agency. Since then he's written lots of books, including The Thornthwaite Inheritance. His latest series is Solve Your Own Mystery, a series of interactive books in which YOU work alongside a yeti detective. Gareth spends his time writing books, visiting schools, performing at festivals and composing songs. When he’s not doing these things he can be found hanging out with his wife Lisa and two children.He owns a piano, 2 trumpets, lots of ukuleles, a few guitars, a trombone, banjo, banjolele, two accordions, a melodica and a keytar. 

Gareth will be signing and dedicating books on the day, so please see the information below to place an order.

2. Select the number of book(s) you'd like to buy from the drop down menu and add to them to your cart

3. In the cart - please use Add Note to state your child's name and School. 

4. If you would like the book(s) to be delivered directly to St James's Catholic Primary and distributed on the day, Under Delivery Option, select Shop Collection (free)
